Trampoline Pad Safety

The main purpose of the trampoline pad is to help protect the user from any injury if they were to fall on the Frame or springs of the Trampoline. Trampoline Pad thickness changes depending on the size of the trampoline, the thicker the pads the safer they are.
On average the best thickness to have is around 25mm but better performance trampolines will usually have a thickness of 30mm to 35mm.
Different materials inside the trampoline padding affect the performance of pads when it comes to safety, the best material to have is closed cell foam, this is foam which is evenly spaced throughout the trampoline pads which ensures that there is no weakness in the padding.
The outside material which surrounds the foam is very important, with cheap pads a vinyl is used which does not have a very long life span this material will crack over time due to wear and tear and on hot days these pads will bubble and get very hot to touch which is not nice for young children who can burn themselves on these pads.
We have chosen to use a stronger material on our trampoline pads we have used a rubberised canvas material which has a denim jean like feel.
These pads do not get hot in the sun and are easy to keep clean. They are a lot more durable when compared to the cheaper vinyl pads.
